Was asked to develop a new team shirt for the kids' summer swim league, the Stingrays (okay all you biologists, I know this is technically a "manta ray," but this species/phylum looked more like a tough mascot!)

Painting has sort of taken over for me. I've jumped from a knife to a brush - and back to knives. I'm doing some design for a personal project in development but every time I get a chance I throw stuff on a canvas. It's an incredible release and a heck of a lot of fun. I still feel weird selling these - it's like I have to love them then say bye-bye. But if they find a happy home that's cool too. More can be seen here.

The Strain (or more geekin' out)

I don't think I'm looking forward to more of a horror flick than this series of books. I wanted to get another Strigoi out, this time through Painter.

I finally finished Guillermo Del Toro's and Chuck Hogan's The Strain trilogy. It was so so good. The Strigoi, or what the population becomes in these books, are simply nasty versions of vampires - so I tried to iPad these two types out (awesome book trailer here too).

Lollapalooza T-Shirt contest

When I saw there was something fun to the two "l's" in the Lollapalooza logo, my advertising-character brain lightbulb went off...what if there were a character that had those legs. They looked as if they were dancing anyways? I had a fantastic model maker in Niska Cheffet help me design and build a 3-D model below - as I wanted to see this character as it could appear in the park - with a dancing, cavorting person right inside her suit. The official entry is here. Voting begins March 9th. Notice her head/face is literally the "o" in the logo turned sideways...
